RESEARCH EXPERIENCE FOR UNDERGRADUATES
DETAILS: The research focus of the LAKES REU program is in areas of sustainable watershed management, with aspects of social, economic, and environmental approaches incorporated into broader problems of sustainability and community. Students involved in the program will be mentored by faculty members having wide-ranging backgrounds in relevant research areas.
SUPPORT: REU internship participants will receive a stipend of $600/wk during the 9 week REU, a transportation allowance, and housing and meals will be provided on campus. Funding for travel to present your findings at a national conference will also be available.
ELIGIBILITY: Applicants must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents and must be fill-time undergraduate students. Preference will be given to students with limited research opportunities at their home institutions. Minority students, women, and first generation college students are especially encouraged to apply.
