Outdoor Environmental Education (OEE) Positions
Chicago Park District - OEE seasonal positions support a wide range of programs and events from spring through late fall, with the summer camp season (July – Aug) being our busiest time of year.
Camp Counselors will be hired to support three site based Nature Camps (Northerly Island, North Park Village Nature Center, and Big Marsh), or one of several programs that travel around the city to provide all of our other parks with nature based activities and education.
These programs include Fishing, Gardening, Camping, and Nature Oasis, as well as paddling and climbing. Once hired, Counselors are assigned to a program that best suits their experience level and will stay with that program throughout their employment.
All applicants should be comfortable working outdoors and have an interest in exploring nature with kids (experience a plus!). Comfort with traveling throughout the city and access to reliable transportation is desired; experience in any one of our focus areas (fishing, camping, gardening, climbing or paddling) would also be a huge bonus!
Many positions require availability M-F, some evenings and weekends are needed depending on the program. Camp Coordinator applicants should meet all of the Camp Counselor requirements and also demonstrate good organizational and leadership skills.
Pay range is $20.39/hr - $25.50/hr based on position and all postings close March 6th.
