The Six Rivers National Forest will soon be advertising for a GS-0462-10/11 Forestry Technician (Timber Sale Administration) position. This position is permanent full time. The duty station for this position is Eureka, California.
Brief Description of Job Duties (GS-11, full performance level)
This position serves as the Timber Contract Administrator administrating timber sale contracts, service contracts, and stewardship contracts.
This requires seeking opportunities to better meet resource management objectives throughout the operations of the contracts, identifying flaws or omissions in contracts and plans, and effecting the contract and work changes needed to achieve or remedy them.
The incumbent continually reevaluates existing contract and sale/harvest plans, assesses multiple resource forest conditions, analyzes resource capabilities and identifies potential environmental impacts.
Serves as the unit’s Forest Service Representative or Contracting Officer’s Representative regarding timber and forestry aspects of timber sale, service, or stewardship contracts.
Note: This position requires FSR certification or incumbent will soon be certified.
