Dear High Achieving Student in a Science, Math or Engineering Major,
The Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship might be in your future! Are you a junior or advanced sophomore? Do you plan to continue on to graduate school for a PhD? Do you have a strong undergraduate research record?
If so, please read on!
The National and International Scholarships Program is offering a two-day event about the Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship. The Goldwater Scholarship offers $7,500 to either sophomores or juniors in STEM disciplines who aim to pursue a Ph.D. in their field. On October 20, attendants will receive an overview of the scholarship as well as have a chance to talk with a former Goldwater Scholarship recipients from Illinois. On October 21, the Scholarships Program will offer a workshop on how to write a competitive scholarship packet. Students are encouraged to attend both events.
The dates and times are as follows, all events will be held in 514 IUB Illini Union Bookstore Bld.
Thursday, October 20: 3:30-4:30-Overview and Discussion with a former Goldwater Scholar.
Friday, October 21: 3:30-4:30-Workshop on how to craft a competitive application packet.
