Who we are: Since 1967, this Company has built a solid reputation in both the commercial fishing industry and the fisheries research sector. HBR is based out of Baileys Harbor, WI and Clark Fork, ID. Comprised of a team of fisheries research professionals, HBR seeks to foster new and maintain current partnerships with State and Federal agencies focused on fisheries management.
What we do: Our overall company objective is to provide operational expertise in the areas of fisheries assessment and data collection. Ultimately, HBR collaborates with biologists to manage invasive species and restore native ecosystems.
Responsibilities: Technicians will be part of a crew working aboard 32-47 ft. commercial research vessels where their responsibilities will include: assisting in deployment and retrieval of commercial fishing gear, assisting with removal of fish from nets, as well as identifying, sorting and measuring fish to collect and analyze data. Crewmembers work together with daily maintenance and general upkeep of boats and gear. Work may occur during periods of inclement weather. Position requires ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Qualifications: At least 2 years of college education in fisheries or related field. Must have valid driver’s license and pass a drug pre-employment screening. It is important to have pride, enthusiasm, and dedication in this position.
