Summary:
The Park District of Highland Park’s Natural Areas Program seeks to employ a college-aged student as a Natural Areas Intern. In addition to the attached application, students should submit a cover letter outlining what you would like to gain from your summer internship, your resume and two letters of recommendation, one from an educator and one from an employer, by March 31, 2017 to:

Responsibilities: Job duties will include invasive species control, ecological monitoring including water quality monitoring, trail maintenance as well as help with volunteer workdays and environmental education programs.
Qualifications: Preference will be given to junior, senior or post-graduate students with related experience and good references. An applicant must have completed at least one year of school and currently be enrolled in a college or university, pursuing a degree in forestry, environmental science, natural resource management or related fields. Interns must provide their own vehicle and housing
Classification: Seasonal Internship. The internship runs eight weeks beginning June 1 through July 15, 2017 (somewhat flexible). Schedule flexible (approx. 32 hours/week)
Wage Range: $10.50/hour.

Summary:
Trekkers is an adventure-based day camp with several overnights for kids in 5th-6th grade.
This is an 8-week position from June 12-August 4. An additional opportunity may be available for a 1-week camp position August 7 to August 11. Camp hours are 8:00am-4:00pm Monday-Friday, plus five overnight trips totaling nine nights away (no weekends). No housing available.
Responsibilities:
Counselor duties include supervising campers throughout the day and during overnight camping trips as well as leading campers in daily activities that may include games, crafts, swimming, hiking, canoeing, cooking, fire building and camping.
Qualifications:
Positive, enthusiastic, responsible individuals who enjoy and are experienced working with children. Some knowledge of nature and outdoor recreation required. Lifeguard certification or ability to become certified a plus. Minimum age requirement of 18 years old.
