The Illinois Department of Natural Resources is inviting applications for the following positions:
Position Title: Natural Resources Technician II, Opt 1
Monthly Salary Range: $3498 - 5063
Position Location: ORC Division of Fisheries, Jake Wolf Fish Hatchery, Topeka, IL (Mason County)
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. ½ hour lunch, Saturday & Sunday off
Description of Duties
Under the direct supervision of the Assistant Manager provides technical assistance in the culture and propagation of coho salmon, steelhead and brown trout, largemouth and smallmouth bass, channel catfish, striped bass and redear sunfish; operates and maintains complex fish culture equipment; assists in liaison activities with county and municipal agencies and organizations.
Desirable Education, Training and Experience
Requires knowledge, skill and mental ability equivalent to completion of high school. Requires two years progressively responsible experience in fish, wildlife, forestry or natural heritage activities. Requires ability to obtain certification as an Aquatic Pest Control Operator.
This position requires possession of a valid Class B Illinois Commercial Driver’s License with Air Brakes designation and tanker endorsement. The employee/applicant shall provide proof of possession of the valid Class B Illinois Commercial Driver’s License with Air Brakes designation and tanker endorsement at the time the bid is submitted in order to be considered qualified and eligible for the position. If the eligible bidder selected for this position has not previously held a position requiring a Commercial Driver’s License, he/she must pass a pre-employment drug test which will be scheduled by the Department. If the eligible bidder is unable to pass such test, he/she will not be considered qualified or eligible for the position.
