Duties
Serve as the Kansas City District Environmental Compliance Program Manager. Monitor, inspect, and report on environmental aspects for the District to ensure environmental compliance. Coordinate Environmental Review Guide For Operations (ERGO) inspections and provide training for staff members regarding environmental regulations and applications. Perform on-going environmental assessments and or studies of the project utilizing the initial ERGO. Provide technical support and assistance by maintain proficiency in all applicable federal, state, and local environmental laws, regulations, and policies that impact the District. Develop, recommend and implement approaches to meet current and evolving sustainability requirements. Prepare final Report of Findings for projects having completed the ERGO assessment. Insures an ongoing environmental compliance program is maintained in the Operations Division.

Qualifications

Experience required
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
GS-11: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: Advising on environmental compliance activities related to hazardous substances, materials and/or activities.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09 level).
GS-12: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience developing, analyzing, evaluating, and modifying environmental compliance activities related to hazardous substances and materials to ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11 level).
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency (knowledge, skills, abilities) in the following areas:

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade of GS-09 or GS-11 respectively (or equivalent).
