About the Inflation Reduction Act
NOAA Fisheries received an unprecedented investment to strengthen the agency’s core mission to provide science-based management and conservation of the nation’s marine resources as we confront climate change. Climate change impacts every aspect of our mission—from managing fisheries and aquaculture, to conserving protected resources and vital habitats.
These funds allow us to prioritize several critical areas focused on tackling the impacts of climate change, including:
- Data acquisition and management
- Climate, Ecosystems, and Fisheries Initiative
- Conservation efforts around Pacific salmon, red snapper, and North Atlantic right whales
- Habitat restoration
- Support for salmon hatcheries and other tribal initiatives
- Arctic research
- Facilities modernization
- Improved permitting efficiency

Management Analyst, ZA-0343-03

Location: Remote
Salary: $59,319–$92,429 (The salary range will be adjusted to include locality payment for the selectee's duty station.)
Job Description
- Serve as a Management Analyst in our headquarters office responsible for supporting the collection and analysis of workforce data and workforce and strategic plans; performance management and awards; and other related human resource functions. Coordinate data management and operational projects.
- Learn to research and apply a wide range of qualitative or quantitative methods to identify, assess, analyze, and improve effectiveness, efficiency, and work products. Develop written products derived from the collection of human capital data and the FAIR Act inventory (Forced Arbitration Injustice Repeal Act) in order to generate reports and analyses (e.g. furlough data), and communicate such via the NOAA Fisheries intranet, wiki sites, and other internal channels.
- Communicate and coordinate stakeholders and resources in the execution of data collection and analysis tasks. Coordinate and participate in the development of concise guidelines to stakeholders, staff members, senior leaders and other officials within NOAA.
