Position: Summer Field Technician
Dates of appointment: April 15, 2018 through August 31, 2018
Supervisor: Lawrence Hanks
Primary Position Function: Assist graduate students with field work aimed at identifying the pheromones produced by cerambycid beetles in Central Illinois and investigating their function in the field and effectiveness as lures in pheromone traps.
Duties and Responsibilities: Travel to and from field sites around Illinois; assist with setup and checking of beetle traps in the field; help with beetle identification, data collection, and computer data entry; general lab cleanup and dish washing; care of live beetles in the lab.
Education: Work towards a B.S. degree in a related field.
Experience: Basic computer skills and valid driver's license required; Experience with Excel, laboratory work, and insect identification preferred.
