Semper Fi is seeking candidates who have the passion, interest and dedication to work in land management and habitat restoration. The job includes training in ecosystem restoration processes, invasive plant management, equipment operation and field safety. You’ll work with the field crew to conserve, restore and manage wetlands, woods and other habitats.
Prefer, but not required, knowledge of environmental conservation skills and ability to identify native and invasive plant species. The candidate must be detail-oriented, committed to excellence, and has a positive attitude.
Our core project sites are located throughout Cook County, with additional project locations throughout the Chicago region including DuPage, Will, Kane, and Kendall Counties. Technicians are typically assigned to the project site closest to where they live.
Qualifications:
- Passion for the environment
- Excellent work-ethic and team-player.
- Positive, collaborative, can-do attitude.
- Able to stand and walk for extended periods, 7-8 hours each day.
- Currently have or willing to obtain State of Illinois Herbicide Certificate.
- Reliable transportation is required. Technicians report directly to jobsites.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Pursuing or have obtained Associates or Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies or similar preferred.
Permanent authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We do not offer sponsorships.
