Description of Duties/Essential Functions:
Under general supervision of the Regional Forestry Administrator, as District Forester administers, manages and implements Department and Division of Habitat Resources' forest resources programs in the District.
Minimum Requirements:
Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of a Master's Degree in Forest Resource Management or a Bachelor's Degree in Forest Resource Management supplemented by two years progressively responsible professional experience in Forest Resource Management. Requires ability to establish and maintain satisfactory working relationships with representatives from other DNR offices and divisions, other state agencies, federal agencies, conservation groups and organizations and the general public. Requires the ability to work under adverse environmental conditions and the ability to lift loads that exceed sixty pounds, to traverse rough and broken terrain on foot without mechanical assistance, and to negotiate a variety of natural obstacles carrying a variety of technical equipment. Requires a valid Illinois class D driver's license. Requires ability to obtain a Public Applicator License for the application of pesticides.

Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., 1-hour lunch, Saturday & Sunday off
