This position serves the public through the maintenance and operation of a complex plant, filtration and chemical system which removes pollutants from wastewater and allows for discharge at or below EPA standards. The successful candidate for this position will have a degree in Chemistry, Biology or Enfironmental Sciences in order to be considered for an interview.
Under the general direction of the Plant Operations Division Manager, this employee performs work of moderate difficulty in the treatment of contaminated water through a series of processes that remove or destroy harmful materials and microorganisms; ensures that the purification process goes smoothly and efficiently, controls pumps, valves and computers that move water through processes; administers and adjusts chemicals as required and pulls samples for testing.
