The Office of Undergraduate Admissions has Summer positions available for Illinois Student Admissions Representatives (I-STARs) that will help facilitate our Campus Visits and New Student Registration programs.
Campus Visits will include daily prospective visits (mornings M-F, afternoons M & F) and group visits, similar to the school year. Daily Visits will typically be larger (between 50-200 visitors on average).
New Student Registration is a one-day mandatory program for all new freshmen & transfer students during which they learn more about campus life, meet with an academic advisor, and register for fall courses.
We are looking for students who are articulate, flexible, reliable, and energetic, and who have a positive attitude and are enthusiastic about Illinois. I-STAR positions will include assisting with check-in, navigation of campus for various parts of the program, course registration, speaking with new students and parents/guests, giving campus & classroom tours, and other tasks associated with Campus Visits & New Student Registration programs for prospective students and incoming freshmen & transfer students.
I-STARs will have training on May 18-22, 2020.
- Daily Campus Visits begin May 11 (for training week, previously trained tour guides will be staffed), and run through the end of August.
- New Student Registration will begin May 26 and run through July 10 with additional programs August 17-20. Programs only take place on Mondays-Fridays. No program on July 3.
Students must be available to work Monday-Friday during the hours of 7:30 am-4:30 pm, though you will not work all hours each day. Students can expect to receive near full-time hours, and around 28 hours/week if you are taking a class(es).
