JOB DESCRIPTION: Assist with research in the wheat and oat breeding programs at
the University of Illinois. Duties include a. helping to maintain and harvest research
plots, and b. data collection in research plots and on grain samples. Much of the work
for the first two-thirds of the summer will be outdoors. The position is full-time (40
hrs/wk) for the entire summer (May 18th - Aug. 21rd) and potential overtime during
harvest (approx. June 15th – July). Pay Rate: $11.50/hour and overtime $17.25/hour.
Possibility for work during school year. Internship credit is also possible.
LOCATION: U of I South Farm - Crop Sciences Research and Education Center,
Urbana, Illinois. Transportation (bicycle or car) to the Agronomy Seed House on W.

QUALIFICATIONS: Willingness to do manual work, able to work as a team, excellent
attention to detail, available full-time during the summer (not taking a summer class),
not allergic to dust. Some background in science, agriculture or field research is
desirable but not required.
