CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — International Student and Scholar Services is looking for students and scholars to participate in this year’s Travel Around the World event.
International and domestic student groups, cultural organizations, and individuals who are interested in showcasing their culture, traditions, and heritage of their country, region, or cultural group are encouraged to sign up at https://go.illinois.edu/TATW2024.
The form closes at 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday. Nov. 5.
Filling out the form does not guarantee a spot because space is limited. Event organizers will review all submissions and confirm participation on a first-come-first-serve basis.
ISSS will then contact registrants shortly after the deadline to finalize group selections and provide further details.
Travel Around the World returns for its 13th year on Nov. 19 and kicks off International Education Week (IEW) at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign campus.
It will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. inside Illini Union Rooms A, B, and C.
During that time, each group that signed up will be provided with a table to display items, distribute materials, and interact with event attendees.
There will also be live international music and performances and several chances to win prizes.
The purpose of the event is to learn about different cultures and countries from around the world.

Items to note:
- Food samples are allowed to be handed out at the tables, however if someone is bringing food it will need to be approved by the Illini Union and University Catering first. All food must be nonperishable, unopened and individually wrapped (items such as wrapped candies, tea bags, and small individual snack bags may be acceptable, but must still be pre-approved).
- Tables must be always staffed, but there is a limit of four people who can staff each table at any given time.
- ISSS will provide a table and two chairs for each participating group.
