2020 ICF Virtual Interview Competition for International Students
Application Available on Handshake
International Career Festival (ICF) is an annual career event for international students that is hosted by University of Illinois Career Services Council. This year’s ICF is comprised of the ICF Virtual Interview Competition and the Alumni Panel Sessions. For those who want to participate in the Virtual Interview Competition, the application will be available on the Handshake event section. Only the first 50 submissions will be evaluated. You are asked to submit recorded answers for two Big Interview questions.
Three Info Sessions Next Week: Career Certificate – International Students (CC-I)
August 31, September 1, and September 4, 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
To apply to the Career Certificate – International Students (CC-I) program, you must attend one of the info sessions. Three sessions will be offered next week. Please see the Career Center website for details. CC-I is a nine-week training program to help international students develop job/internship search and networking skills. Undergraduate and Master’s students can apply. Even if you are going to stay in your home countries this fall, you can apply as long as you attend the workshops either on Mondays or Tuesdays from 4 – 5:30 p.m. CST. The application deadline is September 4.

New and continuing international students can learn about services, programs and resources of The Career Center and career service offices provided in the Fall 2020 semester. In the fall, The Career Center will offer various virtual programs to help international students become more competitive job/internship candidates in the U.S. as well as in their home countries. International Career Festival (ICF) hosted by career offices on campus will be introduced too. ICF consists of the ICF Virtual Interview Competition and the Alumni Panel Sessions.
Global Careers: Work Holiday Pass in Singapore

Learn about Work Holiday Pass and career opportunities in Singapore for non-Singaporeans. Moby Xu, a Finance alum who is working as a recruiter for a fintech company in Singapore, will share his career journey as an international student from Champaign to Singapore.
Returning Home: India Series
Saturdays, September 5 and September 11, 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Central Time
The Career Center and Indian Graduate Students Association (IGSA) are co-hosting the Returning Home: India Series to help Indian students better understand job markets and career opportunities in India. The September 5 session will invite Pramad Jandhyala, Co-founder and Director at LatentView Analytics to feature the data science industry in India. The September 12 session will have Abhijit Shah, Managing Director at Walter P. Moore to highlight the civil engineering industry in India. Please sign up for September 5 and 12 events respectively to receive a virtual event link. One more session on the computer science industry is being planned.
Returning Home: China Series
Fridays, September 11, September 18, and September 25, 8:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Central Time
The Career Center and Chinese Students and Scholars Association (CSSA) are co-hosting the Returning Home: China Series to help Chinese students better understand job markets and career opportunities in China. Six alumni who are working at top internet and business consulting companies will speak. More details will be posted on Handshake this week. Stay tuned.
Illinois Part-Time Job Fair – Fall 2020 by The Career Center

The Illinois Part-Time Job Fair is open to all students on campus seeking opportunities to make some extra money and build their career competencies while completing their academics. Most campus offices receive applications of international students. Please click here for details.
