Final Info Session for the Spring CC-I 2017 Program on 1/30
The CC-I program is a unique and innovative career program to help international students develop career skills and become a more competitive job/internship candidate in the U.S. Attending the info session is mandatory. The last one will be on 1/30 at 4-5 PM! The application deadline is Feb 2nd. The Spring 2017 CC-I program application link is available here.

How to Win Recruiters Over
January 31st, 4-6 pm at the English Building, Room 160
The Career Center provides this workshop that helps you develop the networking and communication skills needed to engage with employers. Get practical insights and tips that can help you prepare, open, deliver, and close your conversations. You will learn how to storyboard your elevator pitch with an appealing story, gain confidence when communicating with recruiters, and leave with a stronger impression to make recruiters remember you. The main career fair is around the corner. Attending career fairs is a good way to connect with your future employers and to help develop your communication skills.
The Career Center is Hiring Career Services Paraprofessionals
The Career Center is currently recruiting enthusiastic, talented, and diverse undergraduate students to apply for our Career Services Paraprofessional (CSP) role for the 2017-2018 academic school year. The CSPs facilitate career-related workshops, resume, cover letter, and LinkedIn profile reviews, and promote The Career Center at events across campus. International students are welcomed to apply. This workshop will teach you how to use LinkedIn and job search resources including Myvisajobs.com. You will learn more about how to create an appealing LinkedIn profile and how to use LinkedIn for career exploration, networking, and informational interviews. Also, you will learn how to identify companies who are more friendly to international job seekers in your field by using proper job search resources. Strategies for communications with alumni and industry professionals will be suggested. Please bring your laptop.

Every year the Lemann Institute for Brazilian Studies invites a number of distinguished scholars, faculty and graduate students from UIUC and other institutions to present lectures on the foremost issues regarding Brazil's economy, society, and culture. You may want to participate in this panel discussion. Dr. Tombini will be sharing his perspectives with our students. He received a PhD in Economics from UIUC and is the former president of Central Bank of Brazil.
