LinkedIn and Job Search Resources for International Students

This workshop will teach you how to use LinkedIn and job search resources including Myvisajobs.com. You will learn more about how to create an appealing LinkedIn profile and how to use LinkedIn for career exploration, networking, and informational interviews. Also, you will learn how to identify companies who are more friendly to international job seekers in your field by using proper job search resources. Strategies for communications with alumni and industry professionals will be suggested. Please bring your laptop.

The Career Center is Hiring Career Services Paraprofessionals
The Career Center is currently recruiting enthusiastic, talented, and diverse undergraduate students to apply for our Career Services Paraprofessional (CSP) role for the 2017-2018 academic school year. The CSPs facilitate career-related workshops, resume, cover letter, and LinkedIn profile reviews, and promote The Career Center at events across campus. International students are welcomed to apply. Disco International will present their career fairs targeting Japanese-English bilinguals. College of Law Panel Event: “President Trump’s Executive Order on Immigration”
Friday, February 3th, 12 PM, Max L. Rowe Auditorium, Law Building
The University of Illinois College of Law will host a panel discussion at noon on Friday, February 3 to discuss the domestic and international legal aspects of President Trump’s executive order on immigration. The discussion, titled “President Trump’s Executive Order on Immigration,” will provide the campus and the community with an in-depth and scholarly analysis of the President’s executive order on immigration and the legal and policy questions it has generated or is likely to generate. AACC Internship for 2017-2018
The Asian American Cultural Center paid internship program provides students an opportunity to undertake creative and challenging assignments that promote cross-cultural understanding of Asian American and Asian international experiences, and provide educational and cultural support for Asians and Asian Americans in our university community. Study Abroad First Steps Info Session

Illinois Abroad and Global Exchange (IAGE)'s First Steps Info Sessions will encourage students to consider important factors before choosing a study abroad program. This includes academics, housing, duration, location, and cost. Led by IAGE's Program Assistants, who are students who have already been through the study abroad process, you will learn how to research a program, understand costs, how to apply for scholarships, and how to start a program application.

Peer & Career is a RSO that helps students gain 360° insights about different career paths through building student-to-student (S2S) communications.
