Job Search Resources for International Students

Have you heard about LinkedIn, Handshake, or other tools that can help you search for jobs? Or, are you clueless on how to start? In this workshop, you will learn how to use helpful job search resources such as LinkedIn, Handshake, and Myvisajobs.com. You need to bring your laptop to navigate these resources during the workshop. You will be able to try to create an appealing profile on LinkedIn and use it for career exploration, networking, and informational interviews after this workshop. You will also learn the method to identify international-friendly companies through Myvisajobs.com.

Eli Lilly China will hold an info session for their recruiting program. The positions are available only for those who are work-authorized for China. Target majors are Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Pharmaceutical Engineering, Bio-Chemical Engineering Sciences, Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Pharmacy, and Pharmaceutical Science. Organizing Change Student Leadership Retreat
Saturday to Sunday, October 7 to 8th, Lake Williamson Retreat Center near Springfield, IL
This free, interactive retreat is open to all undergraduate and graduate students. You will learn practical concepts and skills about social change, identify what issues are important to you, network with fellow students, and consider how social change relates to your academics and future careers. The Illinois Club Scholarship
Application Deadline: Sunday, October 15th
Are you an undergraduate student with at least 2.75 GPA and will not graduate earlier than December 2018? Also, you will have earned at least 60 credit hours by the beginning of the Spring 2018 semester. You may have a chance to qualify for the scholarship. For more information, please click here.
