Career Certificate- International Students (CC-I) in the Spring 2018
Do you want to be a more competent internship/full-time job candidate? Are you interested in developing your networking and self-promotion skills? Apply to the Career Certificate – International Students (CC-I) program! CC-I is one of the signature programs of The Career Center for international students and has received a national award in 2016.
To apply to CC-I, you need to attend one of the info sessions at the Career Center Interview Suite, Room 213. Only 2 info sessions left. The venue is located on the 2nd floor of the KAPLAN building by McDonald’s on Green Street. Note that all undergraduate and Master’s international students who are available either Mondays or Tuesdays from 4:00-5:40 p.m. from February 12th through April 10th can apply.
CC-I Application: Now till Feb. 1st
CC-I Info Session: Jan. 29th 4:00 PM- 5:00PM, Feb. 1st 6:00 PM– 7:00 PM
International Illini Networking in Chicago. Still available to Engineering students!
Saturday, February 17th, University of Illinois at Chicago campus
We still have seats for engineering students! IINC is the career event to help international students network with alumni who were once international students. 100 selected international students will leave campus and meet with 35-40 alumni to expand their network. IINC is hosted by International Student Career Connections Committee, International Student and Scholar Services and University of Illinois Asian American Alumni Network.
- Cost: $50 (transportation and lunch included) – only selected students will get the payment link
- Application: available on January 16th on the Handshake event section and will run through January 27th, but they will be closed when the caps are reached. (Seats are now ONLY available to engineering students.) APPLY NOW!

Career Services Paraprofessional at The Career Center, UIUC (On campus)
The Career Center is looking for talent! Career Service Paraprofessionals (CSPs) are essential to the work of The Career Center. The CSPs are a group of 20-25 highly talented undergraduate students who facilitate career-related workshops, resume and cover letter reviews, and employer informational sessions.
- Present career related workshops to classrooms and RSOs
- Review resumes, cover letters, and LinkedIn profiles
- Promote The Career Center at events and programs across campus
- Help your peers with professional development

2018 APAC HR Summer Intern at BNP Paribas (Singapore)
BNP Paribas is a French international banking group. Their two core activities are Retailed Banking and Corporate & Institutional Banking. This HR internship is focusing on talent development/diversity and inclusion. Students who are graduating in 2019 from all areas of disciplines are eligible to apply. International Business Consultant at RTP China Connection (Chapter Hill, NC)
RTP China Connection is under Fazheng Cooperation and aims for collaboration of medicine and education between China and the U.S. They look for candidates graduating from graduate school and are able to speak Mandarin. Please check Handshake for more information.

Major Career Fair Schedule in the Spring 2018
Have you planned your semester? We want to help you! By knowing these important dates early, you have more time to prepare yourself to either apply for the nationally recognized CC-I program (Career Certificate-International Students) or perform your best in career fairs.
- Business Career Fair: Jan. 31st to Feb. 1st
- Engineering and Start-up Career Fair: Feb. 6th to Feb. 8th.

Curricular Practical Training (CPT) Workshop
Thursday, January 25th, 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM, Transportation Building, Room 103
Do you plan to have an internship in the U.S.? You will need to apply CPT! Learn more about Curricular Practical Training (CPT), a work authorization for F1 international students who would like an off-campus internship in the U.S. International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) advisors will explain the process of getting your CPT approved. The Career Center will provide tips for your internship search.
Optional Practical Training (OPT) Workshop
Thursday, January 25th, 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM, Transportation Building, Room 103
Have you ever heard that international students may apply a work authorization before we need to face a lot of difficulties for H1B VISA? Learn more about Optional Practical Training (OPT), a work authorization for F1 international students who would like to find a post-graduation job in the U.S. ISSS advisors will explain the process of getting your OPT approved. The Career Center will answer your questions about OPT job searches.

Alibaba Info Session
Tuesday, January 30th, 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM, Gregory Hall Room 213
Alibaba Group is a world famous Chinese e-Commerce company. It is also one of the biggest retailers in the world. Their Full-time position targets are fresh graduates in 2017 or 2018, and their intern targets are those who will graduate in 2019, or after. Please check Handshake for more information.
