Diversity & Inclusion Networking Exchange (D.I.N.E.)
Monday, April 9th, 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM, Illini Union Ballroom
You will have the opportunity to engage with employers who value diversity, practice networking in a casual setting, discover the qualities employers seek in potential candidates, and learn what questions you should ask to determine if an organization meets their diverse needs. The first 50 students register and show up at the event can have a chance to let the employer on that day to review your resume. Please register here.
International Student Career Meetup: Returning to Illinois after a Full-time Experience
Thursday, March 29th, 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM, The Career Center Interview Suite Room 213
This month's International Student Career Meetup will invite a couple of graduate students who came back to U of Illinois after working as full-time employees in the States or in their home countries. They will share stories about why they wanted to work first and then come to a graduate school, and how the full-time experiences help their career development and further job searches. There are two speakers: Katie Jin, an MSTM student who worked at Baidu USA after graduating with a BS in Econ degree, and Ji Seong Song, an MAS student who worked at a consulting firm in S. Korea after graduating with a BS in Accountancy. This event is a casual and informal chat. This event is only open to people who register prior to the event. To register, please check Handshake.

Have you asked yourself this question? Do you need to make up your mind if you want to either stay in the United States, or go back to your home country after graduation? This workshop will help you learn about which factors you need to consider before deciding your career destination. They may include job market needs, language issues, and cultural and psychological factors. Job Market Success Panel

Are you a graduate student? In this panel, you will hear from graduate students and postdocs who have just landed jobs. They are going to share with you how they found a job. One side note is that domestic students’ experiences may not be totally applicable to international students. However, it is still a great chance to learn from their stories.
