[ACPA- CGDSD] Job Search Panel for International Students in Higher Ed

To celebrate the Student Affairs Career Month, we are excited to be hosting a panel on "Job Search Panel for International Students in Higher Ed". What does it mean to work in student affairs as a foreign-born individual? We've invited our directorate board members to come share their experience navigating job search and career development as a foreign-born professional in higher education.
The session will be moderated by our Commission Chair, Kriti Gopal, and you will have the opportunity to hear from Yuan Zhou, Yuezhong Zheng, Dr. Pankaj Desai, and Xiao Yun Sim on their journey to career development, landing their first job out of graduation in the field of higher education.

This series spotlights a career field and helps students understand the field and its opportunities from the perspective of a working professional. Get Ready for Career Certificate - International Students (CC-I) and International Student Career Navigator - Spring 2023 Info Session (In-Person + Online)
This nationally awarded program helps international students become more competitive job/internship candidates. Through a 9-week series of workshops, peer mentoring, immersive experiences, and learning activities you will build a high level of career competence and learn practical information, skills, and strategies. You will receive direct feedback and build a supportive network of peers. Upon completion, you will be awarded a Career Certificate, a valuable credential to market your workplace readiness to potential employers. This program is open to all international students enrolled in in-person academic programs at UIUC.

Dinner at the Native American House
Dinner on Us is a biweekly one-hour evening program comprising scholar and practitioner-led workshops and a meal. Workshops either spotlight a specific campus resource or promote the inclusion of Indigenous perspectives about topics such as, but not limited to, the history of colonization, Indigenous-settler relationships, and Indigenous ways of knowing and being.
