Networking with Alumni in Your Home Country
As many international students are now back in their home countries and looking for career opportunities there, the importance of networking with alumni in home countries is becoming more and more apparent. LinkedIn alumni database is still the best tool to identify those alumni. You may also want to contact the leaders of Illinois global alumni chapters to get advice on career opportunities in your home country. McKinsey Middle East Office Info Session for Graduate Students

This info session on opportunities in the Middle East offices at McKinsey is for graduate students who are planning to graduate in 2021. Please register here by June 14.
2020 United Nations (UN) Young Professionals Program (YPP)
The United Nations has announced recently a list of countries participating at the 2020 YPP that is one of the major routes for young professionals to enter the UN. The areas of this year’s YPP recruitment are management and administration, global communication, and political affairs and human rights. You may need to apply in June and July and the first exam may happen in December. For details, please visit the YPP website.
Summer Career Forum for Japanese Bilinguals Hosted by Disco International
You may remember that this newsletter introduced last week a career fair for Japanese bilinguals hosted by Mynavi. Another major recruiting company in Japan called Disco International is now hosting an online career fair targeting the same populations. The event called Summer Career Forum 2020 Online will be running through June 28. Please check its website out.

If you are a Korean international student and want to know about job opportunities at Korean companies in the U.S, please go to JobKoreaUSA.com and Workingus.com. Many employers posting jobs there provide visa sponsorships.
Deloitte China Career Webinar
Friday, June 5, 8:30 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. Central Time (Saturday, June 6, 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Beijing Time)
In collaboration with American Universities’ China Association (AUCA), Deloitte China is hosting an online career workshop that will explain their recruiting plans and provide an overview of the consulting industry in China. Heads Up: AUCA Summer Career Fairs in China
If you are looking for employment opportunities in China, please be aware that the University of Illinois Shanghai Office is going to co-host two virtual career fairs called AUCA Summer Career Fairs in July or August. AUCA is an acronym of American Universities’ China Association. The details will be posted in this newsletter soon.

BOE Technology Group, a Chinese tech giant is receiving applications for various full-time and internship positions for STEM majors. For details, please search for them on Handshake.
NCSA SPIN Internship for Undergraduates, on campus
National Center for Supercomputing Applications is receiving applications for their Students Pushing Innovation (SPIN) internship program. Any undergraduate students at Illinois can apply. The application deadline is June 1, 2020.
