Impacts of the New Executive Order on International Students?
Some of you may be wondering how the Executive Order signed on June 22 would affect international students. It doesn’t include any change in the OPT program. It means the F-1 students who graduated in May 2020 or will graduate in August 2020 can still apply for OPT. They can work on your OPT status as long as they have the OPT EAD card in their hand. If you have further questions on OPT, please make an appointment with ISSS. If you have questions on transferring from your OPT to H1B, please consult an immigration attorney. Also, please read a mass email from Chancellor Jones.
