University of Illinois
Job Description
The Wabash River Valley (WRV) is important for spring migrating waterfowl, but we still know little about where these birds overwinter or which breeding populations they originate from. To further our understanding of WRV migrants, this project will deploy GSM/GPS transmitters on mallards to track them throughout the year. The position will involve monitoring and baiting trap sites as needed, checking game cameras, helping construct traps, and maintaining field equipment in good working order. Technicians will also assist during trapping days and will be able to assist INHS biologists with waterfowl banding.
The successful technician(s) will be based near Lawrenceville, IL.
