    The Illinois State Water Survey (ISWS) at the Prairie Research Institute, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, is seeking a motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate to contribute to a statewide water resources planning project.

    The successful candidate will work on:

    • Water resources systems analyses with a focus on surface water and groundwater availability
    • Strong scientific communication with stakeholders and general public
    • Hydrology Analyses
    • Water budget assessments
    • Data visualization to support decision-making

    Qualifications:

    ·        PhD in hydrology, water resources, GIS, geography, or related field is required. .

    • Demonstrated experience in hydrology, water resources, or related fields
    • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools
    • Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present scientific findings to diverse audiences (e.g., stakeholders, scientists, project sponsors, policymakers, and the general public)

    Responsibilities:

    • Conduct technical analyses to evaluate water availability and sustainability
    • Prepare and present results through technical reports, stakeholder communications, and peer-reviewed publications
    • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary research team

    This position offers the opportunity to contribute to applied research that informs water policy and management in Illinois and beyond.Salary is commensurate with education and experience.  The salary range begins at $60,000 plus benefits.
