  In this issue of the Alumni Update, we share the College of Education’s 2023 Impact Report. Innovation is this year’s theme as we look at how Education at Illinois is shaping the future of education by harnessing rapidly expanding technologies like artificial intelligence (AI). This past year our faculty received significant funding for AI research that will shape the teaching and learning of science, technology, engineering, and math—and ensure that STEM education is equitable and accessible.

  We welcomed nine new faculty members into our College, continuing to attract the best scholars to the University of Illinois, adding capacity to our research strengths, and helping to prepare our pre-service educators. 

  Thanks to our committed donors, we raised $4 million dollars in private support to fund the most pressing needs of the College. These gifts ensure that we can support our faculty, programs, and students to achieve excellence, equity, and engagement in education.

  Thank you for your steadfast support of the College of Education. We wish you a joyous holiday season as we ring in 2024.
