As many of you know, May is the National Bike Month, and usually the University of Illinois organizes several events during May to celebrate Bike Month. However, due to the pandemic, the University of Illinois has cancelled all events for Bike Month on-campus.

That said, May is still the Bike Month, and we appreciate our growing bicycling community. We want to improve your bicycling experience and build an environment of a prosperous bicycle culture on-campus. We want to thank you all for being such an important part of our efforts.

This May, if you feel comfortable, take a ride on your bicycle with your family and friends, while maintaining six (6) feet distance of course, on a good weather day. We still have some Veo bikes on-campus during this pandemic, and they have been an excellent partner to the community. So, if you don’t have a bicycle, and you really want to do some pedaling, then take a Veo bike, but take precautions. These are unprecedented times. Your health and safe being are of the utmost importance to the University of Illinois, and we would like you all to follow the CDC-approved protocols.
