Fortunately, one of the best parts of the University of Illinois is that your student is never alone in making advancements in their career. The University of Illinois offers a multitude of resources and provides various opportunities for your student to figure out the next step in preparation for post-grad life. One of the best ways your student can seize a new opportunity is by engaging with one or more of the Virtual Career Fairs this fall.
- Plan Ahead. The upcoming fall semester provides Virtual Career Fairs that are catered towards all fields of study. Your student can learn more about these upcoming Virtual Career Fairs at HireIllini Career Fairs or through Handshake. Key dates include:
- Engineering Career Fair: September 9 & 10
- Business Career Fair: September 17 (full-time) & 18 (Internships)
- Civil & Environment Engineering Job Fair: September 23 & 24 from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m.
- Information Sciences Career Fair: September 23 from 1-4 p.m.
- Applied Health Sciences and the Division of Intercollegiate Athletics Career Fair: September 23 from 5 - 8 p.m.
- ACES + LAS Career Fair: September 24 from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- Statistics and Mathematics Career Forum: September 24 from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- Information Sciences Library Career Fair: Wednesday, October 7 from 1 - 4 p.m.

- Your student can excel at these Virtual Career Fairs by utilizing the Career Center’s wide variety of services.
- Students can utilize the Career Center’s online platform for resume and cover letter reviews. This provides a quick and efficient way to review their resume and cover letter in a time crunch.
- Your student can practice their interview skills with the Career Center’s virtual Mock Interviews–a 60-minute interview where they’ll receive personalized feedback.
- In times of urgency, the Career Center also provides Drop-in Services via Zoom for Resume Reviews, Career Drop-Ins, Cover Letter Reviews, and more.
By planning ahead and utilizing the Career Center’s services prior to a Career Fair, your student will be more than prepared. Be sure to share these key dates and provided services with your student this semester!
