Job Overview:
The UIC Nursing Peer Mentors are front-line representatives of UIC Nursing undergraduate and graduate programs. Mentors assist in connecting prospective students and their families to UIC Nursing through participation in recruitment and admissions events, on campus or virtual tours and visits, and via email and phone campaigns. Mentors share their excitement for UIC and UIC Nursing with prospective students, guide students and families to appropriate resources related to the admissions process and represent UIC Nursing at UIC and within the Chicagoland community.

Responsibilities and Duties:
- Attendance at the UIC Nursing Peer Mentor Orientation (date and time to follow)
- Attendance at all UIC Nursing Peer Mentor meetings, social events, and community service projects
- Commitment to a minimum of 2 admissions/recruitment events per year, with availability for other activities as assigned
- Participation in university-wide admissions/recruitment events, including but not limited to:
- Email and phone campaigns
- Virtual chats and student panels
- UIC Nursing building tours
- Community College visits
- Assistance in the creation of marketing materials
- I.e. videos, flyers, postcards
- Social media posts
- Additional activities as they arise
- Preferred commitment to a one-year tenure
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current UIC Nursing undergraduate student in good standing
- Minimum GPA of 2.5
- Completion of at least one semester at UIC
- Passionate about UIC and UIC Nursing
- Strong public speaking skills
- Familiarity with UIC campus and resources
- Ability to work independently
- Respect for a diversity of individuals and experiences
- A warm and friendly presence
- Good time management skills
- Willingness to provide and accept constructive feedback
