ASSISTANT DIRECTOR FOR EDUCATION AND OUTREACH
The Illinois Program for Research in the Humanities (IPRH) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is seeking an Assistant Director for Education and Outreach to be responsible for ensuring IPRH educational and outreach program objectives are achieved by developing, implementing and evaluating the strategies employed. The Assistant Director will collaborate with internal and external units to develop, implement and expand opportunities for students (adult, undergrad, and graduate), particularly those of the Odyssey Project. Major duties and responsibilities include: lead, oversee and/or assist with the planning, implementation, and evaluation of major IPRH educational and outreach initiatives, particularly the Odyssey Project and other Mellon-funded initiatives; make curriculum and operational recommendations for programs; and integrate Odyssey Project more fully into both the humanities ecosystem and the public engagement work of the university.
Advanced degree in humanities required. Alternate degree fields may be considered / accepted depending on the nature and depth of the education and experience as it relates to this position. PhD in a humanities or related discipline preferred.
