Bill Sanders, a Donald Biggar Willett Professor of Engineering and research professor at the Coordinated Science Laboratory, and Ken Keefe, a senior software engineer at Illinois' Informaton Trust Institute, have been awarded a one-year, $950,000 contract from the Department of Homeland Security to address this problem and continue their work on developing a simplified cyber security metrics modeling method to be used by those without security expertise.
