The Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS) has recognized CS Professor Sheldon Jacobson as a fellow for his lifetime achievement in the field of operations research. This is the highest distinction within INFORMS and is awarded to only 12 members out of a network of 11,000 every year. The formal announcement will be made at annual INFORMS conference in Minneapolis this October.
