University of Illinois industrial design professor Deana McDonagh, center, is working with U. of I. materials science and engineering professor John Rogers and Northwestern University mechanical engineering and civil and environmental engineering professor Yonggang Huang on a wearable health-monitoring device that will measure a person's vital signs and motion. McDonagh will help design the device so it is comfortable, easy for users to apply and inconspicuous.
