Marielle Aromin is an incoming University of Illinois freshman from Kaneland High School. She is studying Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) and was the winner of our E-Night raffle! Congratulations, Marielle!
Apart from her studies, Marielle has been busy becoming a new member of the Philippine Student Association, preparing to audition for the 3Spot Dance Troupe, and planning to join the Society of Women Engineers. Before deciding to attend the University of Illinois, Marielle considered a few factors in the decision making process, including: proximity of campus and home, rank of the program, and friends attending the same college.
Last summer, Marielle was part of WYSE’s summer camp: EYO (Exploring Your Options), where she “chose CEE after hearing a lecture on the major and seeing the concrete demonstrations." Currently, Marielle is interested in working on projects related to theme parks. As she noted, "I have a lot of fun at theme parks and building rollercoasters seems like the right fit for me."
