Zoom has acknowledged a vulnerability that affects user using the Zoom client on Macintosh computers where there is a risk of a malicious website automatically joining you to a Zoom meeting and accessing your video camera. This vulnerability only applies to Mac users and is considered low risk. There is no risk to data or other computer functionality. It’s getting a decent bit of Internet attention today, so I wanted to make you aware.
Zoom has an upcoming fix for the issue but in the meantime, please make sure you’ve updated your Zoom client and select “Turn off my video when joining a meeting” under SettingsàVideo. The latter is generally a good practice, so you can be intentional about when you enable your video after you join a meeting.
You can see Zoom’s full response here.
