Job Summary:
The Dean’s Office of the College of Applied Health Sciences (AHS) at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) invites applications for the position of Assistant Dean for Recruitment. This full-time academic professional position provides leadership in undergraduate student recruitment and yield initiatives within the college. Using data driven metrics and best practices in marketing, the Assistant Dean for Recruitment provides overall leadership in planning, directing, implementing, and assessing recruitment and yield strategies to meet the enrollment goals of the College of Applied Health Sciences. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining partnerships with feeder high schools and community colleges related to student outreach and pipeline programs. In addition, the Assistant Dean for Recruitment collaborates and communicates frequently with academic departments across the college and with the campus Office of Academic Enrollment Services on recruitment and yield initiatives. The Assistant Dean for Recruitment utilizes software to manage prospective student databases and communication plans. The ideal candidate has previous recruitment and admissions experience, as well as a deep knowledge of recruitment policies and practices, and marketing strategies particularly as they pertain to undergraduate recruitment. Travel is necessary for this role. Candidate must have excellent leadership, attention-to-detail, communication/marketing, organizational, and interpersonal skills. A commitment to diversity and a client-centered, teamwork attitude are required.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of Bachelor’s degree required (in health-related discipline, marketing, communications, business, or liberal arts & sciences degree) Master’s preferred in marketing, communications, or health related discipline preferred.
- At least three years of recruitment experience working in an academic environment (e.g. Admissions and Records, Advising, Student Support/Advocacy)
- Experience with recruitment and admissions processes at the college level.
- Strong commitment to recruitment.
- Data driven assessment of recruitment practices and standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, presentation, organizational, interpersonal skills, and computer skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Experience with Customer Management Systems (e.g. Slate) and marketing preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with social media platforms and evaluation social media data preferred.
- Experience in designing and developing marketing material for targeted audiences.
- Proven experience and ability to work as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
