We are inviting all of UIC’s undergraduate and graduate students to take our 2021 Sustainability Literacy and Culture Survey protocol number: # 2021-0904. This survey is part of a research study to assess the knowledge amongst the UIC student body about sustainability. By educating ourselves about sustainability, we can see how urgent of an issue it is all around the world and here at UIC, we can strive to be more conscious about our decisions when looking at the future of our Earth. The research will also help guide future curriculum development at UIC. Your participation in the research and your responses to the survey questions will directly contribute to this initiative. The results of this survey will be reported to the Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System (STARS), in which UIC is a participant. STARS is a self-reporting system that allows colleges and universities to track and measure their sustainability performance. UIC, like many other universities, is working towards educating their students more around issues such as sustainability. This survey will help to educate and spark interest around such practices.
