Mellon Summer Academy at the Art Institute of Chicago is currently accepting applications until March 1st, 2020. This is a one-week intensive aimed at college freshmen, sophomores, and non-traditional undergraduate students with two or more years of coursework remaining. Participants receive a small per diem (daily stipend) for the week, plus all expenses are paid including food, travel, and sleeping arrangements. This program is funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, which is dedicated to creating opportunities for historically underrepresented groups in the museum field. The 2020 program will have a thematic focus on curating Indigenous arts and arts of Africa & the diaspora.
