Position Description: The Honors College at the University of Illinois at Chicago seeks highly qualified and motivated candidates for the position of Honors Academic Advising and Program Specialist. Reporting directly to the Associate Dean and the Assistant Dean for Student Services, the Honors Academic Advising and Program Specialist is a full-time 12-month academic professional position. This position provides academic and career planning and advising to Honors students by guiding them in the development of their academic and life goals. Develops curriculum, teaches, and provides direct instructional support for Honors classes. Develops and implements Honors academic and student affairs programs involving outreach to internal and external constituencies including students, faculty, alumni, high schools, and community agencies. In support of these duties, develops and maintains information of best practices and literature concerning academic advising and student development theories; program requirements in all UIC degree-granting colleges; UIC Honors requirements and programs and national Honors best practices.
