Course scheduling: If you plan to teach in the fall, please review your course title, date, time, and number of credit hours in Course Explorer. If changes need to be made, contact Ted Underwood. Classrooms for on-campus courses will not be finalized until the summer.
Faculty summer appointments: Requests are due to your research services contact (copying Beth Etchison) no later than Friday, April 29, for all faculty who are requesting summer salary. For more information, please refer to the email sent to the faculty listserv on Tuesday, April 19, at 7:15 p.m.
ISAA Board nominations: Alumni Affairs is accepting nominations (self-nominations are welcome) to serve on the iSchool Alumni Association (ISAA) Board of Directors. Positions include president-elect/vice president, treasurer, secretary, and two directors. Each term consists of a three-year commitment to service. Meetings are held online and no travel is required. Nominations will close on Wednesday, April 27, at 12:00 p.m. CT. If you have any questions, please contact iSchool Advancement.
Vacation and sick leave reporting: Please remember to update your vacation and sick leave reporting for August 16, 2021 – May 15, 2022 in the My.ISCHOOL portal.

Canvas gradebook Q&A sessions: The Help Desk and ITD team will hold drop-in Canvas gradebook Q&A sessions on Monday, April 25, at 10:00 a.m. and Tuesday, May 10, at 1:00 p.m. Feel free to join one or both sessions!
Convocation ceremony and reception: The iSchool will hold an in-person ceremony to celebrate December, May, and August graduates on Sunday, May 15, at 4:30 p.m. in Foellinger Auditorium. Safiya Noble (MS/LIS ’09, PhD ’12) will be the convocation speaker. A light reception will be held in Illini Union Room C immediately following the ceremony (approximately 6:00-7:00 p.m.).
MCC monthly call: The Midwest Big Data Hub (MBDH) hosts the Midwest Carpentries Community (MCC) in partnership with the University of Wisconsin–Madison to provide a venue for region-wide capacity building of data science skills through The Carpentries organization. The next MCC monthly call will be held on Monday, April 25, at 11:00 a.m. CT, addressing the topic, “Building the Midwest Library Capacity/Community.” For more information, contact Cathy Blake.

ALA Annual Conference: ALA Annual will be held in Washington, DC, this summer, and the iSchool will be there! Please join us on June 24-27. We will have a booth in the exhibit hall, celebrate the Downs Intellectual Freedom Award (cosponsored by SAGE publishing) on Saturday, June 25, and host the iSchool reception and ISAA Annual Meeting on Sunday, June 26. If you would like a complimentary exhibit hall pass, or if you have any questions, please contact Jill Gengler.
LMS consultations and gradebook support: The ITD team is happy to schedule a one-on-one consultation to help set up your Canvas or Moodle gradebook and to answer any questions you may have. Please contact the Help Desk to set up your appointment.
Summer Courses: If you are teaching this summer, watch for communication on accessing and getting your Canvas course space ready for the summer term.
