The space team continues to meet regularly to address key decision points. The planning process includes collaboration with iSchool unit managers, faculty, and staff as well as consultation with Dean Santos.
The occupants of the 4th and 5th floors in the new building have been assigned to their locations. Some offices have been left open to allow for the anticipated future growth of our School.
Furniture for the 4th and 5th floors in the new building will be ordered in the next few weeks. The Office of the Provost has allotted funds that will be used to purchase the new furniture. Renderings supplied by the architect illustrate one example of the many possible furniture layouts that can be achieved in the flexible 4th floor multipurpose rooms—which will be influenced by the creativity and unique needs of our faculty and staff.
A key/access plan has been developed for the new building, which allows for card swipe entry for both sets of interior stairs and the elevators. All offices will be individually keyed.
The completion of these activities represents a milestone in the building project, one that could not have been realized without the dedicated teamwork of our School’s faculty and staff. As attention turns toward the final phase of project completion, the space team will reach out to faculty and staff for ideas regarding how to best celebrate in the fall.
