In collaboration with iSchool unit managers and faculty, occupancy plans are being finalized, including office assignments in the new building and our existing building. These plans are based on future growth projections for our School, which is expanding rapidly, and subject to final approval by Dean Santos. The planning process continues to emphasize individual needs, flexible furnishings, and cost efficiency for the project.
The team also is finalizing furniture packages for office spaces, the Help Desk, and collaboration areas on the 4th floor. By mid-April, furniture should be determined for the 5th floor as well, which will house research labs and faculty offices. Dean Santos and the team would like to highlight and express appreciation for the hard work of faculty and staff who have contributed to the building planning process. While this work has been extensive, the benefits will be realized in new and redesigned spaces that will enhance support for our School's mission to shape the future of information through research, education, and engagement.
