The space leadership team (Linda, Christine, and Tad) is moving forward with furniture selections, providing flexible options while efficiently using project funds and resources. Renderings created by the architect, which are shared for internal use only, illustrate the layout of furniture in a typical office space.
Another current focus is the design of interior spaces. While color schemes and finishes have been selected, decisions regarding signage and graphics are underway in collaboration with the architect and F&S. Examples of areas under consideration are enlarged on the plan for the 4th floor. Detailed in additional drawings, these areas include elevator lobbies, reception areas, resource centers, areas for collaboration and engagement, and cafes. All of these illustrations are shared to provide a conceptual understanding of the spaces to be designed; the colors may change somewhat but will remain orange and blue to be consistent with University branding.
The exterior facade will be brick and mortar. External renderings are provided to illustrate the building’s aesthetics, which will complement the appearance of surrounding buildings on campus.
The move-in timeline is still dependent upon a number of variables and contingencies, but potential occupancy remains as early as the fall semester. Please email newbuilding@ischool.illinois.edu for answers to any questions that you may have at this time.
