What did you enjoy most about your online degree program experience at Illinois?
"During my time in the program, I enjoyed the support, camaraderie, and real-time classes. These three areas helped me establish a deep connection with the university and program, even though I attended online."
What were you doing before your online degree program at UIUC?
"I worked as senior administrator with Orange County Public Schools in Orlando, Florida. In this position, I provided support to 21 middle and elementary schools in central Florida."
Why did you choose your program and Education at Illinois, particularly?
"I chose the Diversity and Equity in Education program to ensure I was best equipped to support all students in the achievement of their goals and dreams, regardless of race, socio-economic status, national statistic or personal challenge. The live, real-time lessons helped establish a community, even as the students were from all parts of the globe. I was challenged and supported to conduct research that would benefit my community and school."
What are you doing now, and how has your online degree experience helped you?
"I am currently a principal of a K-8 school in Detroit, Michigan. My education helped me hone my skills in leadership, data and information gathering, and problem solving."
