Current doctoral student Brandon Brockhouse chose the online Ed.D. in Human Resources Development (EPOL) because it aligns with his career goals. And because he's thrilled to be part of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, his "dream school."
What have you enjoyed most about your online degree program experience at Illinois, so far?
"For me, the most enjoyable aspect of the online experience is being able to complete my doctorate at my dream school even though I now live in California."
What were you doing prior to starting your online degree program?
"Prior to starting my degree program at UIUC, I worked as the HR Development Manager in a corporate office."
Describe your online program experience.
"I chose the EPOL program with the specialization in HRD because it aligns with my current and future career goals. Attending UIUC has always been a dream of mine, so when I discovered the online EPOL doctorate program I knew right away I wanted to apply.
The time I have spent in the EPOL program has been beneficial. The connections I have made, and the lessons that I have come away, have helped me move into my dream role."
What are you doing now, and how has your online degree experience helped you?
"I now oversee the Workforce Planning and Analytics unit for the largest teachers’ retirement system and second largest public pension fund in the nation. My education has provided me with a sound foundation from which I was able to grow and develop into this role."
