The Human Resources Intern will support the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Human Resources team by assisting with recruitment coordination, career event planning, data tracking, and employee engagement initiatives. This position offers hands-on experience in public sector HR operations, outreach coordination, and internal engagement projects.
We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented individual who thrives in both independent and collaborative work environments and is eager to contribute to a mission-driven public health agency.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, Outlook).
Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree (and in good academic standing) in Human Resource Management, Organizational Leadership, Health Communications, Public Health Administration, Industrial-Organizational Psychology, or a related field.
Duration and Compensation:
This internship will be completed from mid-August to mid-December. This is a hybrid position requiring in-person work at the Westchester office on Mondays or Tuesdays, and remote work on additional flexible weekdays for 15-20 hours per week total (between regular working hours of 8:30 am - 5 pm).
