Coming May 2024! University Payroll & Benefits will have a new and improved process for foreign national employees and fellows to request a Tax Status Review.
The current process requires foreign nationals to schedule a date, when available, for their Tax Status review in Ability LMS and wait for a Box folder to upload their immigration documents. The new web application will be a single system to request the review and to upload the required documents. The reviews will be conducted according to the order in which they are requested. There will be no delay in the new system for the foreign national employees to submit their request for a Tax Status Review. Foreign nationals will be able to view the status of their request within the application.
In addition, employees who hold an F, J, M, or Q visa will be able to indicate within the application that one purpose of the requested review is to determine eligibility to participate in the State University Retirement System (SURS).
