On February 11, 2024, Web Time Entry will be upgraded to version 9. This upgrade will occur midway during the 2024 BW 5 pay period. The time entry for this pay period will not open until February 12th. Hours for both weeks will be reported in the new version. This change to the payroll calendar will also impact Department Time Entry. Department Originators will not be able to extract timesheets until February 12th.
Usually, application upgrades roll out a few enhancements with minimal changes to the end-user experience. This is not the case with Web Time Entry 9x. You will immediately notice significant changes to the user interface. Web Time Entry 9x boasts a modern design along with some nice enhancements. However, navigation, time entry, and approval steps will also change.
As part of this upgrade, we will be enhancing security by requiring 2-factor authentication (2FA) when accessing Banner Self-Service. Starting February 11, 2024, users will receive a DUO prompt when logging into Banner Self-Service, as you do now for Banner Administrative Pages, Microsoft 365, and Box. You can find more information on 2FA and DUO here:

Web Time Entry 9x training materials and resources have been developed to assist with this transition. You can find these job aids, videos, and recorded presentations on the Web Time Entry 9x Resource page. A Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section will also be available on this resource page. Before it goes live on February 11th, you can submit any questions not addressed by the FAQ to obfsupbtraining@uillinois.edu. After the new version is live, we ask that you submit questions or issues through the UPB Customer Service Portal. In the ticket details, include “WTE 9x” in the Title field so the ticket can be prioritized and assigned to a subject matter expert in a timely manner.
